Rules of golf that are used for all PBQ outings
1) Ball "Out Of Bounds" - If a ball is hit out of bounds the player must play a 2nd ball, under penalty of one stroke as close as possible to the spot from which the 1st ball was played. That means loss of STROKE & DISTANCE!!!
2) Unplayable Lie - Here’s a great rule to take advantage of during your round - it WILL DEFINITELY save you some strokes. A player may deem his ball unplayable, any place on the golf course, except, when the ball is in a water hazard. If the player deems his ball to be unplayable, he must, under penalty of one (1) stroke, choose one of the three options listed below:
1) Play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played; or
2) Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lay, keeping that point directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind that point the ball may be dropped; or
3) Drop a ball within two club-lengths of the spot where the ball lay, but not nearer the hole. If the unplayable ball is in a bunker, the player may proceed under option 1, 2 or 3. If he elects to proceed under option 2 or 3, the ball must be dropped in the bunker.
**When proceeding under this Rule, the player may lift and clean his ball or substitute a ball.
4) Ball in Sand Trap - If your ball lands in a sand trap and is in a footprint, you may pick up, smooth and place, no penalty. Otherwise, if your ball lands in a trap and is NOT in a footprint, you must play it as it lies.
5) Loose Impediments - Loose impediments are natural objects, including:
a) Stones, leaves, twigs, branches and the like.
b) Dung, worms, insects and the like, and heaps made by them.
These objects can all be removed without penalty..........EXCEPT...............when they are fixed or growing or solidly embedded. Sand loose soil are loose impediments on the putting green but NOWHERE ELSE.
6) Leaf Rule - Golfers get free relief with falling leaves. As significant concentrations of falling leaves in Autumn can create an abnormal leaf problem, the Rules of Golf permit a committee in charge of a competition to adopt a temporary “LEAF RULE”
When a golfer’s BALL IS FOUND in an accumulation of leaves, relief without penalty is permitted. The player may either:
1). Play the ball as it lies or
2). Drop within one club-length of the nearest point of relief outside the accumulation of leaves, but NOT nearer the hole.
